“Being part of Alzheimer’s Buddies made me rethink what care actually means. I realized it’s not always about taking action, sometimes it’s about consistency, presence, and being willing to share space with someone, even in silence. I’ve had moments where words didn’t matter as much as simply being there. I came in wanting to help, but I’ve learned so much from the people I’ve met, about patience, empathy, and the kind of presence that doesn’t need recognition. It’s reminded me that real connection doesn’t require a solution, and that understanding has stayed with me not just in volunteering, but in how I think about building tech and showing up in life.”
